RedTail Partners

RedTail Partners is a private flying club. RedTail partners is a new innovative way that you can join the exclusive club of having an interest in an aircraft. RedTail Partners are creative thought leaders that want the freedom to travel whenever and wherever they want. RedTail Partners have the freedom to travel to their favorite art festival, folk concert, or golf course on a moments notice while avoiding the hassles of commercial airlines.

Don't let not having your pilots license stop you. You can get private instruction from a certified flight instructor. As a beginning pilot, you can get your visual flight rating ("VFR") with about 65 hours of training.

A VFR rating allows you to fly essentially when the weather meets certain regulatory requirements.

After getting your private pilot VFR license, RedTail Partners recommend you get advanced instrument flight rating ("IFR") training.

RedTail Aircraft

RedTail Aircraft are newly remanufactured modified Cessna 172 single engine aircraft. RedTail Aircraft cockpit's have the latest in avionic technology and the most advanced application of ergonomic sciences available. The flight deck is powered by the an updated avionics suite. All aircraft flight systems have traffic data, digital altitude, moving maps, navigation, communication, and other real-time flight-critical data.

Pre-Installed BRS Parachute

All RedTail Aircraft have the most innovative safety equipment to promote safety. All RedTail Aircraft are equipped with a BRS whole plane parachute system which is designed to lower the entire aircraft safely to the ground with a goal of minimal, if any, injuries or casualties among its occupants. The whole plane parachute system can be used in the event of loss of control, failure of the aircraft structure, or other in-flight emergencies. We believe that the RedTail whole plane parachute system combined with IFR rating, makes RedTail Aircraft one of the safest single engine aircraft on the market.

Pilot License

RedTail Partnerships are targeted to people that do not currently have their pilot's license. If you don't have a pilot's license, a visual flight rule ("VFR") license can be obtained in 60 hours and an instrument flight rule license ("IFR") can be obtained with an additional 60 hours of training for most people. Certified flight instructors can be hired for $25 to $60 per hour.

  • Obtain a 3rd class medical certificate from physician.
  • Funds needed for training (usually $3,500-$5,000 for the average person and abilities).
  • Choose a flight school.
  • Choose a flight instructor. This is very important, as different instructors have different personalities.
  • Schedule your flight time. Generally, a block of 2 hours is the standard.

No you do not need a pilot license to purchase a RedTail Partnership. In fact, RedTail Partnerships are targeted toward people that have always wanted to learn to fly but never have. You can easily get your pilot's license after becoming a RedTail Partner by hiring a certified flight instructor. It will take you about 60 hours of training to become a VFR pilot. However, we encourage all of our Partners to continue their training and become an IFR rated pilot with about an additional 60 hours of training.
Although we plan to offer RedTail Aircraft throughout the United States, we are currently only offering RedTail Partnerships in areas that are close to New York City. Our first partnerships are expected to have aircraft that are only a short LYfX ride from New York City, Brooklyn and Jersey City.
As big proponents of flying safely. we have installed BRS Whole plane parachutes on all RedTail Aircraft. if a plane experiences a major mechanical failure, pilots can deploy the BRS parachute and improve the likelihood of a safer landing. BRS parachutes have saved 303 lives.
RedTail Aircraft have a cruise speed of 145 mph. Assuming no wind, a 660 hour trip would take only 4.5 hours compared to 13 hours by car. This is a 65% time savings.
There are significant benefits to owning a RedTail Aircraft Partnership. Owning an aircraft is extremely expensive. When you become a RedTail partner you join a community. One significant benefit is that by having Partners sharing the aircraft that the aircraft is flown more often. Single engine airplanes need to be flown often. Single engine planes that are not flown, are more likely to have more maintenance problems. With planning, RedTail Partners should be able to take overnight trips. We believe that the benefits of having Partners are substantial.
RedTail Aircraft are owned solely a subsidiary of RedTail Partners. When you purchase an interest you become a part of the RedTail Community and have the right to use the RedTail Partner Aircraft.
